I have never been on a romantic getaway. Never. Even after my wedding, all we had was one night at a hotel when we were both too tired to do anything more than sleep. The next day we had to make a trip cross country for him to report back to the naval base because he only had three days leave for getting married.
Sad but true. I didn’t have a honeymoon.
I’ve been thinking a lot about romantic getaways lately… where I would want to go and what I would want to do. Since I’ve never done anything like that before, I really don’t have many ideas.
So when you think of a romantic getaway, what comes to your mind? Would you want the glamorous life in a city or somewhere remote and rustic? Does basking on a private beach with your partner sound like your thing, or would you rather make love in front of the fireplace in a mountain lodge?

For our tenth anniversary me and the hubby went to Hawaii. If my children hadn’t been waiting at home I don’t know if I would have come back. It was beautiful. When I think about romantic getaways it’s almost always the beach. Once in a while it’s the mountains but rarely the big city. I like the city but not for romance.
Ah, Hawaii. I actually lived there for about 7 years, but never once managed to sneak away from the house for even one night. I agree it’s beautiful out there. I don’t think I’ve ever seen water that blue before or since.
