It’s a pleasure having Cristal Ryder guesting for me today. I’m back from my cross country trek, but my brain is …I need a vacation from my vacation. Cristal is one lucky duck and she’s in Anaheim at RWA Nationals, but she provided her post to me beforehand.

Boots, whips, restraints, dominate, collars, power, leather, control, submit. So many words find their home under the BDSM title. And there are so many ways to show control and submission as well. I’m writing this post in the middle of June for an end of July blog. Amy told me she has to have it by June 23rd and I’m not about to test her by being late. She is exhibiting control over me and I’m submitting. So far, the whip has not come out and I wonder if it would should I be late. What would happen to me if I was tardy with the blog? We’ll never know because I will do as I’m told 
I’m told I like control and it’s probably correct, but if it came down to it, do I really want to be in control? That’s for me to know and someone to find out.
This post was stimulated by a tweet stream today about boots and proper attire. You see, we’re going to have a party at National next week (which is really a month away as I write this post). The party theme is Dungeon / BDSM, hosted by Passionate Ink, and we’ve decided to honour the boot. Yes, the boot. I hope by the time I get to the conference, I’ll have found myself a to-die-for black leather kick ass boots, with laces and pewter accents and peek-a-boo sides. Wishful thinking possibly. But I will try. And what will I put with that boot? Time will tell.
I dabbled in light BDSM in with my books, Switch Me Up, Being Ariana and Being Bound. Bound actually touches on femdom and I totally loved writing Heather, our domme. However, I was warned that femdom is a tough sell and I think now I’d have to agree. Would I write a femdom story again? Yes, I think so. There is something very sexy about a man in submission. It doesn’t mean they’re weak and that was my concern when I wrote Bound. Rourke is anything but weak, yet how to show that when he’s in a submissive situation.

But., the RITA’s are now over and an ebook won best contemporary! Wow what a coupe – Boomerang Bride, Fiona Low. Congrats! I met her at the signing and have a signed copy.
RWA12 is over, its 1040 here in Anaheim and the crowd is rowdy in the pool bar, which I can clearly hear from my 18th floor balcony. It’s hard to leave after five days and re-entry into the real world is tough.
I’ll miss all my RWA buddies – until next year, hugs all around.
