I think Cherise Sinclair books should come with a warning stamp – CAUTION! Sexy times ahead! Especially with her Shadowlands series.

6357022 - coverHer car disabled during a tropical storm, Jessica Randall discovers the isolated house where she’s sheltering is a private bondage club. At first shocked, she soon becomes aroused watching the interactions between the Doms and their subs. But she’s a professional woman–an accountant–and surely isn’t a submissive…is she?

Master Z hasn’t been so attracted to a woman in years. But the little sub who has wandered into his club intrigues him. She’s intelligent. Reserved. Conservative. After he discovers her interest in BDSM, he can’t resist tying her up and unleashing the passion she hides within.

This first in series is a few years old now, but still fresh ‘n’ hot. Quite frankly, Ms Sinclair leads the way in BDSM fiction, and if you ever wanted a gentle introduction to this genre, look no further. It’s also a FREE read on Amazon (at the moment!), so grab it while you can.

Since Jessica has no prior knowledge or experience of the lifestyle (as everyone refers to it), we see it through her eyes. Her at-first-shocked eyes, then curious, and then excited. I liked that. Her emotions were clearly drawn, and I didn’t have any trouble picturing her, and feeling her emotional journey through the story. And as for Master Z * fans myself again *.

17853699_s“What is your name?” Her new host’s voice was deep, dark as the night outside.

“Jessica.” She stepped back from his grip to get a better look at her savior. Smooth black hair, silvering at the temples, just touching his collar. Dark gray eyes with laugh lines at the corners. A lean, hard face with the shadow of a beard adding a hint of roughness. He wore tailored black slacks and a black silk shirt that outlined hard muscles underneath. If Ben was a Rottweiler, this guy was a jaguar, sleek and deadly.

He is The Dom, the one everybody looks up to, and the one all the subs want to experience. He’s the perfect candidate to show Jessica what she’s missing in her life.

“The trust that your master knows what you need and will give you what you need, even when you aren’t always sure.”

There is so much to enjoy in this book. Fantastic characters, and early introductions to many of the future stars of their own books, smokin’ hot sex, and a tightly written story that pulls you in from the opening page.

12633191_sJessica isn’t your typical skinny bimbo heroine, she’s a real woman, with real curves.

“Jessica, I like your body, in case you haven’t noticed.” He turned to face her, pushing her against the back of the couch. Slowly he trailed his fingers down her neck, across her breasts, her stomach, and heat flowed into her like a current. She moved uncomfortably when his hand settled on her pudgy hip.

“I like round,” he said, holding her gaze with his own as his hand stroked her hip. “I like abundance.” His hand moved to cup her breast, and he smiled as the weight settled into his palm. And then he slid her skirt up, and his fingers wrapped around her thigh, moving upward until she squeaked and closed her legs against him.

He bit her earlobe, a tiny jolt of pain, and whispered, “I fully intend to bury myself—very, very deep—in all your softness until you’re squirming under me. Until you’re panting for release.”

Her inner conflict is believable, and she has some real soul-searching to do. Can she embrace this new and foreign lifestyle and still retain her professional-in-control business persona? You’ll have to read it to find out 🙂
