sssSotiaYes, yes, I know the answer is “all of it,” but that’s physically. What I want to know it how much of what’s in the story do you want the cover to be true to?

The cover of The Tenant is one I love. The woman on it is a brunette, though, while Amanda is blonde in the story. Would such a detail throw you? Do you even notice?

I’m a bit anal about the covers I design. I want the people on them to look at least 99% like the characters do in my head, and that can be a bitch to accomplish.

And then, there’s elements of the story. In romance, should it show something of the plot line, or is a romantic couple in the proper settings enough?

I guess the main question here is, do you judge a book by its cover? And what do you expect that cover to tell you?
