My Werewolf’s Character Was Inspired By An Angel
by Clare Dargin
Before I sat down to write Wolf’s Blade, I had only one thing in mind, I wanted to write a werewolf romance novel. My first in fact. But who the character was, the events that made up the main hero’s and heroine’s life or the story’s main conflict I had yet to figure out.
So I did what I always do in these situations, I stressed myself by worrying. Yes sometimes I can be very neurotic. After wearing a deep groove into my carpet from pacing, I came to the realization that worrying was getting me nowhere. So I reluctantly set the project aside and began working on other things.
Then one day while I was watching my favorite paranormal show, I saw him. There he was in all of his six foot something glory, the inspiration for my werewolf shifter character- who I’d later name Callum Blake.
The show in question was Supernatural. I’ve been a fan for years and love the exploits of the two characters who are brothers– Sam and Dean Winchester. This particular season, season nine had a new character that added a sweet pathos to the story line, which in my opinion, had never been on the show before.
The character, known as Gadreel, was an angel who was charged with guarding the Garden of Eden. But for some reason, either through carelessness or falling for the devil’s trickery, he allowed Lucifer to enter the Garden which caused the fall of creation. As a result, he was placed in heaven’s jail and was released when a fellow angel, Castiel released him because Castiel became an unwitting pawn of another angel named Metatron’s dubious plans.
Anyways, Gadreel’s storyline though brief, was powerful. Not only because of the writing (which is always good on the show in my opinion) but through the acting of Tahmoh Penikett. I must admit, I had never seen him before – though later on I found out he was a major character on the revamped Battlestar Galactica among other shows- he made me cry as well as cheer for his tortured and damaged character.
But being the good romance writer that I am, I had to admire his incredible good looks. Six-foot-four, with a lean muscular build, broad shoulders and a narrow waist line, Gadreel/Tahmoh was walking sex. I mean the guy was hot!
That’s when I knew I found Callum Blake or at least the placeholder/image I could use in my mind as I wrote the book. When I write, I usually I like to have a person in mind when I create the character and the world he lives in because it inspires me when I’m trying to think of facial expressions or when I’m just to trying to find out what the man or woman is thinking.
Though Callum is a lot younger than Tahmoh the actor and much younger than Gadreel the angel, I made sure or at least try to make sure that Callum possessed the magnetic charm and sexy charisma that Tahmoh portrayed as Gadreel. I hope you enjoy reading Callum’s story as much as I did writing it.
Erotic Excerpt from Wolf’s Blade
He finished loading their bags into the truck and walked over to her and kissed her. She leaned into the kiss. It was both sweet and sexy, filled with the same passion he showed her the night before. She gave in to it, his heat, scent, and licorice taste. Heat surged through her, setting her nerves on fire. Her nipples puckered against her shirt and her pussy dripped moisture, wetting her panties.
“Mmmm,” Callum said, pulling away with a hiss. “I can taste your arousal.”
“I guess the alpha can wait a while longer,” she replied in between nipping his lips.
They chuckled as they ran inside the house. Stopping in the bedroom, they hurriedly undressed as their mouths hungrily kissed. She reached her hands out and grabbed his shoulders. She leaned onto him as her legs quaked beneath her. She blinked up at him and almost gasped at the glance he directed to her. His gaze was so intense, it glowed. Her skin prickled from her arousal. It was the sexiest thing she’d ever seen. His wolf had power and that was so hot. Her breath shuddered. He kissed her shoulders and her neck, then sucked where he had kissed. Her nipples pebbled because of his touch, while her pussy gushed.
All rippling muscles and hard angles, he was a work of art. Her gaze traveled down his body, toward the stacks of defined muscle covering his abdomen. Her mouth watered at all that tight toned flesh. Her teeth ached to bite into the wall of hard muscle, to nip into the dense flesh.
He took the tip of each of her nipples, suckling them and pulling moans out of her. She fisted her hand around his cock and pumped. His body stiffened as pre-cum coated her fingers. She knelt down and took his cock into her mouth. Thick and long, she ran her mouth up and down its length, savoring his spicy taste.
She tipped her head forward, licking and sucking the thick cock, taking more of it into her mouth. She wanted to please him as much as he did her. She treasured the idea that she was able to make him so hard. Callum slowly thrust in and out of her mouth. She added suction as he pulled out while teasing the underside of his cock. She reveled in the small grunts he gave as he responded to her ministrations.
He grabbed her by her hair and pulled her away from his dick.
“Enough. Any more and I’ll come down your throat.”
“So, I don’t mind.” Her own need to come pooled inside her.
“I do. I want to come inside your pussy.”
